The Patent Trial and Appeal Board of the United States Patent and Trademark Office is partnering with Texas A&M University School of Law to present the first LEAP to Law Schools event. This event is designed to connect law school students with PTAB judges in a way that promotes dissemination of information about the work of the PTAB and the LEAP program.
This 4.5-hour program includes informational sessions about the USPTO in general, PTAB proceedings, the LEAP program, and career paths for law students interested in the USPTO and PTAB. The program will also present an appeal advocacy session, where attendees will get a behind-the-scenes look of an appeal argument at the PTAB. The day concludes with a PTAB trivia game, where the audience participates while learning more about PTAB in an entertaining format.
The event will be held on October 27, 2023, from 10:00 am to 2:30 pm Central Time, at the Texas A&M Law School Lecture Hall, 1515 Commerce Street, Fort Worth, Texas 76102. Venue opens at 9:30 am.
There is no fee to attend this event and lunch will be provided. However, registration is required via the form below, and space is limited. Please register as soon as possible, but no later than October 6, 2023. Registration does not guarantee participation, as this event is available on a first-come, first-served basis, with priority given to law school students.
Note—registered applicants will receive a subsequent email from PTAB indicating whether registration has been confirmed. For more information regarding the event, please contact LEAP@uspto.gov.
