USPTO Privacy Act Statement
The USPTO is required by law to provide you with a copy of the Privacy Act statement. The Privacy Act of 1974 protects your rights as to how the USPTO uses and shares your information.
The USPTO is collecting this information under the authority of 5 U.S.C. 301, 35 U.S.C. 2, and Executive Order 9397. The USPTO collects this information to plan and manage events that help provide information to the public about patents and trademarks.
We may disclose your information externally as a “routine use” to USPTO contractors who need this information in the course of the performance of their contract or for the other routine uses listed in COMMERCE/PAT-TM-19 Dissemination Events and Registrations.
The disclosure of information by you is voluntary. However, failure to provide the information requested means the USPTO will not be able to send you information about future events.
